Your stories

Everything you've illustrated.

Your album begins here

Every story you illustrate will live here — quiet days, big reunions, and the moments in between.

Your story, illustrated

For the moments you lived too fully to photograph.

Tell us what it felt like. We find the moments that matter and illustrate each one.

Free to try. No account needed.

How it works

Easy as telling a friend

Then watch your story turn into illustrations.

1

Tell your story

Voice or text, just talk like to a friend. A few sentences is plenty.

2

Find the moments

Your story becomes 2–4 vivid moments — picked from the details you shared.

3

See them illustrated

Each moment becomes an illustrated scene with a title and caption.

What we store

  • Your email address (provided either directly or via Google sign-in).
  • If you sign in with Google: your Google account email, Google user ID, your name and profile image from Google, and a connection token used to keep you signed in. We never receive or store your Google password.
  • Sign-in timestamps and the browser/User-Agent string of the device, kept with each sign-in session. We do not store your IP address against your account.
  • Your stories — the narrated story text, moments, cast names, art style, and illustrations.
  • Uploaded cast photos, in the smallest size needed to refresh an illustration.
  • Waitlist email addresses and any feedback you choose to send us.

Cookies and local storage

  • pikumoSessionToken (local storage) — older versions used this for sign-in; the current app clears it when found.
  • pikumo.session_token (secure HttpOnly cookie) — the server-set session cookie that keeps you signed in; not readable by scripts.
  • pikumoAnonToken (local storage) — links an anonymous story to your account if you sign in later.
  • pikumoWebDraftV1 (local storage) — saves your in-progress story so a refresh doesn't lose it.
  • Short-lived cookies set only during Google sign-in (to prevent cross-site request forgery); cleared automatically once sign-in completes.

We don't use any third-party advertising or marketing cookies.

How long we keep it

  • Email and saved stories: until you delete them, delete your account, or they expire.
  • Sign-in logs: 90 days.
  • Anonymous preview stories: 30 days (set by PERMALINK_TTL_DAYS).
  • Uploaded photos: deleted from our storage when the story expires, the story is deleted, or the account is deleted.
  • Waitlist emails: 90 days if still waiting, or 30 days after we notify you.
  • General feedback: 180 days. Story feedback is removed when the story is removed.

How we use illustration providers

We send your story text and uploaded photos to trusted illustration and transcription providers to find moments and create illustrations. Those providers may process this data under their own privacy policies; we do not opt in to training on your content.

We send story-delivery emails through Resend.

Your rights (GDPR / CCPA)

If you are in the EU/EEA, UK, or California, you have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, and to object to or restrict our processing of it. Signed-in users can download a JSON export or delete their account from the Account panel. For other privacy requests, email hello@pikumo.app from your signed-in address.

How to delete your data

Open Account, choose Delete account, and confirm. This removes your account, saved stories, story assets, active sessions, and account-linked waitlist data. You can still email hello@pikumo.app for help with anything that cannot be handled in-app.

What we don't do

No advertising. No sale of data. No third-party trackers beyond standard error monitoring.

Using Pikumo

By using Pikumo you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service. You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your jurisdiction) to create an account.

Acceptable use

  • Don't create stories about identifiable third parties without their consent.
  • Don't create content involving minors in ways that violate provider safety policies.
  • Don't try to bypass the watermark on anonymous previews.
  • Don't upload content you don't have the right to use (including others' photos).

Story limits

Signed-in accounts can create up to 3 illustrated stories per rolling 7-day window. The counter resets 7 days after your most recent eligible story. Anonymous use is unmetered but may be rate-limited.

Your content

You own the stories you create and the illustrations Pikumo makes from them. You grant us a limited license to store, process, and display your content as needed to run the service, including sending it to our illustration providers. You can ask us to delete your account and content at any time — see the Privacy page.

Illustrated outputs

Pikumo uses third-party illustration providers. Outputs may occasionally contain inaccuracies, artifacts, or details that don't perfectly match your story. Illustrations are creative interpretations, not photographs.

Disclaimer and liability

Pikumo is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (currently, that's $0).

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If we make material changes, we'll show a notice in-product and update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
